The Islamic Association of Canadian Women (IACW) was founded by our spiritual guide, Prof. Imam Syed Badiuddin Soharwardy in Calgary in the year 2000 with the following objectives. IACW has now become a national organization across Canada to empower Muslim women and help them to integrate in the Canadian society with the gift of Islam and the love for the Prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), his progeny and his Companions (peace upon all of them). The gift of Qur’an and the Sunnah makes Canadian Muslim women to be a better, law-abiding and loyal Canadian woman. We can be the best Canadian and the best Muslim at the same time.
We refuse to accept violence, discrimination, hate and racism in all shapes and forms. This is against our faith and against our Canadian values. In Islam, there is no superiority based upon gender, ethnicity, language, colour and geography. In the sight of Allah, a better person is the one who is more honest and more righteous.
